Ocean fishing in Ocean City, Maryland on the Boardwalk Pier.  Rented rod/reel outfit w/rig that consisted of 2 hooks; one above the sinker and one below.  Whole squid on each of the hooks.  Fish love being under structures.  Reeled slowly then stopped, then reeled again, that’s when he would get a bite and set the hook.  Music by: Kevin MacLeod Title: Cool Blast Incompetech.com

Bob Bott catches and releases a pesky NJ fall run striped bass in the surf, using a 1/2 oz Bill Hurley Jig Head and 7″ Got Stryper sand eel. Surf fishing for stripers has grown incredibly popular, and the 2011 fall run was one of the best ever. Sand eels were the primary bait, and lures that mimicked them were very productive. Bob fished with a 10′ CTS PJ model, rated 1-3oz rod (available from www.rhcustomrods.com).
Originally Uploaded on Oct 16, 2011 When Surf Fishing for Redfish “puppy Drum” off the North Carolina Beach’s make sure your gear is good to go. Watch my friend as he runs up the beach. The Redfish just stripped his gear out of his reel!  He ended up loosing the fish. I guess one out of two landed isn’t bad.
Early Easter morning, 2012,  to catch some fish on the surf, we did better than expected. Rough waves and bad tide mad the day look like it was bad but you never argue with a full moon. First cast before the weight hit the bottom whiting was on! Then caught 2 other small ones and a 2 pounder! also managed to catch a small spotted seatrout, 2 hardhead catfish, and a nice 3 pound Black Drum!

Surf fisherman Wayne Beach lands a nice 39 inch striped bass in the Jersey Shore surf. The fish weighed over 20 pounds. The fisherman next to Wayne is Don Brown, who is one of the top striper sharpies around. Both these fishermen caught a slew of fish during this Nor’easter. Wayne caught the striper in the video on an A.O.K. T Hex metal lure. This video was shot in late November, 2010.
Some of the saltwater fishing reels I use for Striped Bass fishing on Long Island waters. I was asked by two Youtube followers for my opinion on some quality reels for striped bass and bluefish fishing. I knew that list of reels was going to be too long to discuss in the message box and I decided doing this video might help explain my saltwater reel choices better. In the video I dicuss some of the Shimano, Quantum Cabos, Penn, Van Staal VM150 fishing reels I have in use aboard the boat for my striped bass fishing trips. Other reels, [More]
