Originally Published on Mar 29, 2015 Took a friend who never caught a big fish, put him on his first Rock and Drum. We blistered the fish this day, 11 Striped Bass and 2 Black drum.  This was the Virginia trophy Rock season a few years ago, all fish caught on fresh peelers. 8/0 Gamakatsu circle hooks on fish finder rigs. We couldn’t get every fish on video they hammered us so fast. Best day on the surf we ever had.

I checked out a few spots, but nothing was looking too promising, until I made it out to Cape Point. Once there, I decided to make a few casts and was hooked up in no time. Originally Published on Feb 17, 2014 We were fishing Huntington Beach State Park, South Carolina, in May 2013, when something picked up Chris’ bait. The fish was de-hooked and released unharmed. Tackle used was a Penn Senator 6/0, Penn Mariner 20-50 standup rod, 50 lb Bullbuster mono mainline with 100 yards of 80 lb Topshot, 12 feet of weed eater line, 250 lb steel cable leader and a 16/0 Mustad circle hook.

Did very well on bull Reds in the surf. Caught my two biggest bull Reds at 45 and 48 inches (3 over 40 inches in one day). Triple header of big Reds at minute 4.00 (45 in. then 48 inches.). Originally Published on Nov 9, 2013 We were surf fishing for Blackfish at AnglerMan’s secret location and it turned out pretty well. Day 1 had a few small Stripers and 1 keeper Blackfish. Day 2 had a few small Stripers and 4 keeper Blackfish. Overall, a great trip!
