Originally Published on Oct 6, 2012 Fishing off the beach at Destin, Florida in July of 2012. Caught a lot of fish, especially in the morning from about 30 minutes before sunrise to about an hour and a half after sunrise. Used frozen shrimp and small bait fish that I caught in my cast net. Used 20-40lb test line. As far as fish species I caught goes; I caught whiting, lots of ladyfish, saltwater catfish, small sharks, and a sting ray.

Actually, all fish are his favorite, but we regular catch bull reds earlier in the year. This time we mistake a red for a shark. Thanks to Cobra Kayaks and Saltwater Soul.

Originally Uploaded on Jul 6, 2011 What a crazy day. This is the third time I brought my son fishing. Twice we went home with nothing. Today was our lucky day. First fish he ever caught was a 1 pound perch. Second fish is this striped bass. We both just expected a really big perch but we’re surprised when he pulled up this beautiful fish.
